Beeste Keuze is an educational game made for Antwerp Gazette for the upcoming elections in Antwerp.
It is aimed at young adults to teach them about coalitions and the political decisions connected to them.
We've developed this game project with Jonathon Mayes in one month.

My role in the project was to find a cohesive style for the game. Create the designs for the characters that showcase their political standing and personality and layouts that are easy to understand.

In the early concepting phase I was looking for a shape language which is representative for each party. Here as an example the chicks ended up having a more rounded down form compared to the starting hard edged ones.

The characters also have features that showcase their personalities.
Like Torus Bullini would is dressed in old school clothes but would has some golden accessories symbolizing what he achieved, he is very proud of what he does.
The buckle is a reference to the farm, and the one eye which looks in another direction would is a good opposite to his strong posture.

Character designs after finalizing the color scheme and shape language.

Some of the final character renders that were implemented in game.

Concept for the barn layout on the left and final look on the right.
I also worked on the 3D environment from the concepting phase to the final product. The barn needed to have and office feeling but still stay in the style of the farm. That was achieved by the chick workers and other 2D office props like the water machine.
